Pecking Order Established
Throughout history, violence has been a motivator for change and has been expressed through play. Such forms of play are considered combative sports and include games like football, wrestling and boxing. These are all games where aggression is portrayed as a valuable trait. This trait is seen as playing an important role in our own lives as we climb the corporate ladder to success. People are driven to succeed by rewards of money, power, and prestige. Within the show Pecking Order Established I explore these traits within the context of a sandbox. The sandbox is a reference for the combative sports that are watched on television; how we played as children; and a reference for our own lives as we struggle to succeed within the corporate world. In reality we never leave the sandbox, we just move to a larger more complex box, one where adults fight for financial wealth.
